This award has been established to recognise and acknowledge the significant time input by I.T.Tralee students to volunteering in the Institute and in the wider community.
Engaging with one’s community as a volunteer brings a reciprocal benefit to both student and community, this award seeks to encourage student community engagement, active citizenship and build on the established work that is being carried out. All students who submit their work will be awarded an ITT President’s Civic Spirit citation. A gold, silver and bronze award will be bestowed on 3 candidates displaying outstanding volunteering experience and impact as adjudged by the award selection panel.

Gold Award - 100 hours volunteering. This award will be bestowed on an individual who has dedicated exceptional volunteer involvement, making significant contribution to an organisation over at minimum of a full year.
Silver Award - 60 hours volunteering over an academic year.
Silver Award - 25 hours volunteering over one semester.
The recipients of the award are:
Ruairi Fry who is the Chairperson of the SVP society within the Institute of Technology. Ruairi won a citation for the Gold Award.
Petrina Comerford who is the Welfare Officer and Secretary. Petrina was awarded with the Silver Award.
Steven Healy who is the Public Relations Officer and Secretary. Steven was awarded with the Bronze Award.
