Student Testimonials:

It has opened our eyes to the different roles people play in our society and the importance of a group like St Vincent de Paul in in the local community. We have built up a strong bond with the people at the day care centre but also, we have built strong bonds and friendships with each other over the course of the year”.

Another part of the Young Saint Vincent de Paul programme not only the committee but also the whole transition year class got to enjoy, was the visits by the youth development officer. We got to learn about people from all different backgrounds and social issues including poverty. The class all agreed this was a real eye-opener into the struggles of living with poverty. Overall, all the girls on the committee agreed this was a rewarding, insightful and great experience and we really enjoyed the programme”.

"Overall, I would say SVP has played a major part in my Transition year. It has opened my eyes and made me get more involved in my community. I hope to continue being involved in SVP after TY".
